If you paint, try the various mediums you don't use now, even finger paint. If you write, try a new style. If you build bird houses, perhaps you'd love building a chair or a decorative shelf. The key is variety. It keeps one growing happily, which also aids healing.

If you already pursue an art-form, that is great! The process of getting lost in something we love releases healing and pain-killing hormones in the brain. The process lifts the spirits, relaxes the body, engages the mind. Being fruitfully engaged also wards off depression.

If you are able to pursue something more active, think dance, yoga, home decorating. The fields of art run as vast as your imagination. Learning new things, pursuing familiar things we love each day can do as much for body and soul as can some medicines. Just let yourself enjoy the process without restrictions. You may invent a whole new art style and heal in the doing.

Changes to Australian Skilled Migration and Skilled Visas

In recent months the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in Australia have announced numerous changes to the processing and application systems for skilled migration to Australia.

We attended a news conference in London recently to find out more about the changes and how they would affect the skilled migration program. The new program, called SkillSelect will be rolled out on the 1st of July 2012.

Currently there are six skilled migrant visa subclasses which were announced as part of the skilled migration reforms on 8 February 2010 - see below:

1. Visa Applications in Australia

subclass 885 (skilled independent) subclass 886 (skilled nominated/sponsored) subclass 487 (skilled regional sponsored)

2. Visa Applications outside Australia

subclass 175 (skilled independent) subclass 176 (skilled nominated/sponsored) subclass 475 (skilled regional sponsored)

In an effort by the Australian government to keep the skilled migration program as responsive as possible, these six visa subclasses will be merged into three, starting from the 1st July 2012. What this means is that the applicant will apply for the same visa subclass regardless of whether they are onshore or offshore at the time of application. The new skilled visa subclasses are listed below:

subclass 189 (skilled independent) (will replace subclasses 885 and 175) subclass 190 (skilled nominated) (will replace subclasses 886 and 176) subclass 489 (skilled regional) (will replace subclasses 487 and 475)

SkillSelect has been specifically designed to encourage state sponsorship and employer sponsorship in order to help resolve the current skills shortages, mainly in Regional Australia.

There has been a major change in the way that applicants will apply for the skilled independent, skilled sponsored and skilled regional sponsored visas. In order to be successfully accepted, the applicant must first complete an expression of interest (EOI). Submitting and expression of interest in order to apply for the Employer Nomination Scheme, Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme and Temporary Business visas is optional, however it is still highly recommended.

As soon as the EOI has been successfully submitted, the visa applicant will be listed on a central database where they may be considered for a skilled visa. This system will enable employers or state and territory governments to find potential applicants for sponsorship, or they could be invited by the Government to lodge a visa application.

Please note: The information provided by the applicant in the expression of interest will be thoroughly reviewed and the Department have stressed that any false or misleading information will need to be verified. If the applicant is invited to apply for a visa based on misleading information, this could lead to a visa refusal and a potential ban from the system.

Furthermore, in the budget for the period 2012 - 2013 the number of skilled visa places has been increased by 3,400 to a total of 129,250. This is another indication that the Australian government are working hard towards finding a solution for the current skills shortages.

We view this as extremely positive news for skilled migrants as we expect that most visa applications will be processed quicker than under the current system.

How to Build a Profitable Freelance Database -- Quickly!

If you want to freelance, but have no contacts (or very few), you can easily build a substantial database in a few weeks or months, depending on how much time you put into it, by doing the following:

1. Do Detective Work on Blind Ads: As I said in the previous article, many times the ads will be blind, but sometimes there are clues as to who the company is. Eg, take an ad that reads, "Submit resumes to hr@xyzcompany.com." What I do is go to http://www.xyz.com (the company's website) and hunt for a number to call someone.

2. Pick Up the Phone: After locating a number on the website (or via a Google search or Yellow Page listing), I then call and ask for the name of the appropriate party, eg, Communications Manager, Creative Director, Editorial Director, etc. (depending on the type of company, this will vary). I usually say something like:

"My name is [insert your name] and I'm a freelance copywriter. I'd like to send the appropriate party some information about my services for their files. To whom would I address this?"

3. Verify, Verify, Verify: While you have someone on the phone, verify the mailing address (which you will usually find on their company website) and any other information you feel comfortable asking for.

I usually keep my calls short and try not to ask more than 2-3 questions. Some respondents are chatty, while others can be quite brusque. I just kind of go with the flow.

The reason I think I've had such success with shorter calls -- especially on the first contact -- is that I don't badger the receiver for information.

I keep my inquiries brief, professional and to the point. The whole idea is not to get immediate business -- although some calls will definitely lead to that -- but to build your prospect list. If you scour your weekly paper -- especially if you live in a large city -- you will find that it is a full-time job just getting the leads into some type of manageable database.

Prospecting from a small town? Don't worry, as a freelance copywriter, you can work for clients nationwide. So, feel free to go online and scour any newspaper you want, eg, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times, the New York Times, etcc. Prospects are EVERWHERE!

If you do this week in and week out, you will build a large, "clean" database in no time. What do I mean by clean? Clean is when the information is verified. Since you called, you know the phone number, you got the name of the hiring official, verified the address, and know the company's website.

This is more than some professional lead selling companies have. Feel accomplished! This is your business's most important asset. Continue to build it and use it.

When you do mailings and they come back, update the information as it comes in. When the contact person leaves, get the new person's name. If the phone numbers change, change them in your database. Doing all of this keeps your database clean.

If this seems like a full-time job, it is. But, marketing is the lifeblood of every business. And, to market, you need prospects -- to follow up with, to mail to, to ask for referrals from, etc.

4. Make Contact: Once you get a minimum of 250 verifiable contacts, send them your info (I'll explain why in tomorrow's post). If you do it by email, be careful to not to spam. To accomplish this, include a short note, eg:

"I called your office and Sarah, your administrative assistant, said you prefer to receive info via email, so I'm sending this one-time correspondence to make you aware of my services."

Make sure you have called and when you do, record the name of the person you spoke with so when you refer back to it you make your contact more personal (more on this in tomorrow's post).

I like email because of the ease and expense. However, with spam being such a problem, unless the prospect has invited you to email, I'd still snail mail a package. I happen to know that companies keep freelancer info on file for a good bit of time. And, you just never know when your package will arrive at the perfect time.

TIP: Get some free database management help by calling local high schools and colleges to see if they have internship programs. Explain what you need an intern to do and see if they have programs where students can earn credit while working for a small business like yours.

Many approach the world of freelancing as a way of making "extra" money. While this is certainly possible, the time you put into marketing for the work you will get will make it seem like a full-time job. So, getting free help like this can add immeasurably to your bottom line.

Breast Implants Replaced For Size Changes and Complications

Although most women are pleased with the outcome of breast augmentation, some may decide later on that they wish to have them removed or replaced with different sizes, shapes, or newer designs.

Implant removal is often necessary if complications arise such as leaking, infection, or capsular contracture (when the tissue around the silicone shell constricts, making the breast hard). Other women find that their implants have changed shape or shifted position over time, resulting in asymmetry, or that they chose the wrong size. Regardless of the reason, removal is an important, and often times emotional decision.

Capsular contracture is one of the main reasons for removal. Capsular contracture is when the tissue around the implant constricts, causing the breast to harden and look tight or squeezed. Scar formation causes it, and infection may be a likely contributors. The condition can occur in one or both breasts and the severity can range from mild discomfort to causing intense pain and visible abnormalities.

There are surgical procedures and massage techniques that can help, but some women find it simpler to either replace or completely remove the devices. After removal, the breast will return to the natural shape and soften. However, if you choose replacement, there is no guarantee that capsular contracture will not return. Using a different method of placement can also help prevent its recurrence.

Other complications, like leaking and infection, will also require removal. A leak or rupture can take years to notice, but symptoms include asymmetry, swelling, pain, or other irregularities. Most plastic surgeons will recommend immediate removal to prevent further damage.

As long as the breast tissue isn't damaged by the leak, replacing the implants is often possible. Infections normally occur shortly after the surgery and are characterized by excessive pain and a fever. If this happens, the implant will need to be removed and cannot be replaced until the infection is clear and the body is healthy again.

An equally common decision is the preference for a different implant size, either smaller or larger. Sometimes women are conservative in their initial desires for breast enlargement. Later on they may decide that a larger implant would be more aesthetically pleasing.

On the other side, some women find that they chose too large initially, sometimes to the point of causing physical discomfort. The placement of the implant can also affect the final outcome. The same size implant placed beneath the muscle will look smaller than if placed above. In either case, it is relatively easy for a surgeon to replace with a different size. Sometimes it is as simple as making a small incision and pumping some more fluid into the silicone shell through a tube.

As with any surgery, both breast augmentation and removal can cause emotional stress. Before either procedure is undergone, be sure to make an informed decision and discuss possible complications and risks with a qualified surgeon. The more you learn about the surgery beforehand, the less likely you will need to have a revision based on aesthetic preferences. Complications, however, are always possible.

The image you have of yourself is everything. If your image is that of a worthless bum, then you are going to more likely be an ineffective person in life and you need to turn the picture round and get a picture of success and well being, as you can be what you want and if you see yourself as a negative person it will be very hard to get anything done.

What you need to do is have a positive image of yourself, then we can move forward with the building of the perfect you. So the image you have of yourself needs to be a positive one and you need to be able to see things that are yet to be. To see the future and to mold and shape it in any form that you so need to get to where it is that you want to go. See yourself buying the new house, see yourself getting the new job and continues to build you up in a very positive way.

Slowly the picture will start to change and since you saw that new job and new car and the pack of cigarettes thrown out the window, you now have that much more of a chance to get these things as you have planted the seeds that you need to bring the thought to the next level and that is reality, continue to think about what car you want and what kind of house you want and what color you want in each room, because when you see these things over and over and over again the closer you are to seeing them happen and happen they will, with a little help from your imagination the minds most powerful tool.

It can bring a dream into a reality and that is what I mean buy positive image and seeing things that are yet to be, and holding on to them until you are changed and your future seems to start to become different and the results start to come in as it was the first thought of your imagination that made it all so clear. Holding on to whom and what you want to be is important also.

Be the husband that you want, see yourself helping your wife out around the house, sees yourself playing with your kids as the great dad that you want to be. See the image of yourself getting more and more positive as the days roll on. You really can shape up your image with thought it is so true. Think of the stuff you want and see yourself doing whatever it is that you need to get there and continue on until you start to see results and that will in turn have a greater effect on your image it will be like a giant snowball rolling down a big hill, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger as it goes farther and father down until it is so big that you can't believe how huge it's gotten.

That can be just like your image as you slowly continue to build it up and up as the things start to change and before you know it you have a huge snowball or in this case your image is grand as there is now nothing that you can't do! This won't happen overnight but if you keep the right image of yourself you shall soon see the difference and all shall become clear as your future UN folds unto another successful year.

Take it day by day and if something does not work out continue to see the picture until you start to see results you want and results are all that you need to start the snow ball rolling down that giant hills we call life and once you see it begin to hold on to the positive picture of yourself and keep all your dreams near as they all shall start to come into focus, things will start to become clear as the snowball gets bigger year after year.

When you have a giant snowball and your dreams are now free to develop unto all that maybe, the problem with your image is now just a dream, a dream of the past far away it may be as your image is rock solid not just dreams. Dreams have become reality as now you can see that all along all you needed was your image to be set free.
